The Qualify to Grow Project is a partnership between Pestana Hotel Group and Moita Professional Technical School. Its main aim is to train young people in hotel sector Professional Technical Courses , supplementing theoretical training with practical experience and supervision throughout the year from experienced professionals.

Students find it easier to enter the labour market by being immediately immersed in a real business environment for 3 academic years, rather than just the traditional internships.

Candidate selection is conducted by applying proper criteria and evaluating candidate profiles and is restricted to students of the Moita Professional Technical School.

Students are required to have completed their 9th year of education or training.

This project lasts for 3 academic years and is divided into three distinct parts.

  • Sociocultural Training (Portuguese, English, IT, Physical Education)
  • Scientific Training (Mathematics, Psychology, Economics)
  • Technological Training (Restaurant/Bar).

The theoretical component is consistent with the programme officially approved for schools by the corresponding ministries. For the practical component, the classes are taught by Pestana Group Professionals in the Group’s hotel units.

Throughout the practical training, students will be able to gain a better understanding and knowledge of the different Pestana Hotel Group units across the country, including the islands, as well as the various operational activities and products of the hotel industry.
